Melbourne storm (not the football team)
So, Melbourne had a bit of a storm on the weekend. I know of at least two sods who were injured buy some of the fist sized hail stones. I was lucky the rally I was attending in the city was over with before the storm hit.
I was sitting down to a fresh juice when finding out about the movement of this storm via irc. A quick visit to BOM had me on the phone to home asking if the washing was still on the line while explaining there was a storm on the way. My partner became the first victim to the hail stones as she was heading back out to grab the last of the washing. The other victim was a friend who I had run into at the rally.
The rally I speak of was one of many nocleanfeed rallies that will be happening around Australia until the government works out that A) we know they are lying about protecting the children and B) the filter can be beaten by a 10 year old with the aid of Google.
By the time the storm hit the city, I was halfway through transacting with one of the organic stores at the Queen Victoria Market. the shop keeper cancelled my order as they rushed to close up the store, leaving me hungry, cold and about to be wet.. I could have walked away with the food unnoticed…but that’s just not the way I roll.
Once out of the market I had the privilege of witnessing The Elizabeth Lake (formally know as Elizabeth Street). Notice how the humans think that storm = anarchy.
Holiday day 1-2
Didn’t quite make the 10am departure yesterday; it was more like 3:30pm. Also didn’t quite make it to Sydney either.
It’s currently 8.49am and I’m in Wodonga. The night was spent in the van at the Wodonga Caravan & Cabin Park. Meg and the boy slept soundly in the roof tent.
Today I’m aiming for north of Sydney..but who knows where I will end up.
Spent the morning looking up info on free camping in NSW and learnt that all NSW state forest are free to camp in. Interestingly, you can camp at a highway rest spot if it’s in a state forest.
Beta testing Office 2010
Hi all. I have just started beta testing Office 2010. My first impressions is..wow that’s a fast load time, followed by..sweet, the stupid Office button has been replaced with the uber cool File tab.
This time instead of a drop down menu we have a tab dedicated to all your opening, saving, templates, share and more. The integration with sky drive is working nicely. Once you have saved your file you are able to share via link, just like working with SharePoint. This post can be found as a .docx here: https://urjfnv.docs.live.net/fa128dbb016cfc74/Public/Beta%20testing%20Office%202010.docx
Another cool feature that may or may not have been present in 2007 is changing colour schemes. I have chosen the rather cool black…and just now discovered this feature was in 2007..fail me.
Beta issue number one is that lack of office online support. I don’t seem to be able to connect to the templates online, which really pisses me off L. I have sent a report to the dev team.

I wish we had wikis when I went to school.
Handy hint for Gmail uses
If you want to read your unread emails you can search for label:unread. Even better…create a quick link (you will need to enable this in labs) of label:unread.
